Champagne Tendil & Lombardi
19th May 2015
A young and contemporary Champagne house in the Côtes des Bars, Tendil & Lombardi released their first bottle in 2011.
It began when Laurent Tendil and Stéphane Lombardi, both born in Lyon, France, first crossed paths as young teenagers. They quickly found their common ground in French gastronomy and fine wine, especially Champagne, and both dreamed of creating their own Champagne.
Some would have dismissed this as a fantasy, but after 15 years Laurent and Stéphane decided to leave their successful careers to chase down this dream, despite the financial risks in the middle of an economic crisis.
They began to blend their own cuvées with the help of a vine grower in the Champagne region and in May of 2011, the first bottles of Tendil & Lombardi Champagne finally saw the light of day.
The grapes used to elaborate the Tendil et Lombardi cuvees come from the “Aube” vineyards, also known as the “Côtes des Bars“ region. The Côtes des Bars Champagnes are recognized for their strong character, elegant balance, and complex aromas, traits that are all easily recognizable in Tendil et Lombardi Champagne.
Despite being new to the scene, their cuvées are already sold in 14 countries and are very well received and highly rated by the international press. Their Champagnes are stocked in several high-end Michelin Star restaurants around the world, such as the Luxury 5* Hotel La Reserve de Beaulieu on the French Riviera.
