Champagne Thiénot Cuvée Stanislas 2006
17th November 2015
A magnificent blend crafted exclusively from Chardonnay from the Cote des Blancs, Alain Thiénot has dedicated this Champagne to his son Stanislas. A Vintage Champagne, it expresses all the complexity and generosity of Chardonnay with great elegance.
The 2006 Vintage
The mild winter and a frost-free spring give a late bud break. The hot and sunner weather in June and July, despite hail storms in early July, benefits the grapes.
August is cool and wet, but unfortunately September brings more sun and heat and helps the grapes ageing. The weather is sunny and dry for the harvest, which took place between 6th and 25h September.
Terroir / Blend
A blend of vintage Chardonnay – Blanc de Blancs – principally from Avize, Oger and Cramant. Picked partly from Thiénot’s own vineyards, located in Premier and Grand Cru vineyards.
Cellars Ageing
9 years in out cellars at Rue des Moissons.
