The French leader in IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) wine varietals.

Pays d’Oc IGP is the leading French geographical indication in terms of wine varietals, largely thanks to its varietal strategy based on robust specifications and a strong group dynamic. First created in 1987, the label continues to grow, with 800 million bottles (6,000,000 hL) sold in 2014, representing a 15.5% increase in production over the three previous seasons. This success confirms new international consumer trends towards a clearly identifiable offering: varietal wines. The Languedoc-Roussillon region mostly produces mono-varietals (but also bi-varietals and blends) and thanks to its 56 accredited grape varieties the label can offer a highly diverse range of wines throughout all the different distribution circuits. With Pays d’Oc IGP, this diversity also integrates assurance of the quality and traceability of wines, thanks to specifications, which are controlled by the Bureau Veritas certification body (100% of wines produced are controlled).
Pays d’Oc IGP in figures :

  • 120,000 hectares of vineyards throughout the Languedoc-Roussillon region – representing around half of all vineyards in the region
  • 2,600 companies and 20,000 grape producers
  • 6 million hectolitres produced in 2014, therefore 51% of the wine production throughout the Languedoc-Roussillon
  • 800 million bottles sold
  • 48% of the wines sold are exported to 170 countries
  • No. 1 French exporter in terms of volume
  • World’s fifth largest exporter of varietal wines in terms of volume
