In this exclusive feature on Glass of Bubbly, we speak with Zachary Godbolt, to co-founder of Doom Juice in Australia, let’s discover a little about his life, his journey into the industry and one of his favourite bubbly memories.

It’s Great To Speak With You, Zac, Can You Tell Us A Little About Yourself & How Your Incredible Journey Into The Wine Industry Began?

“Great to speak with you too! I’m Zac, one of the co-founders of Doom Juice Wine with Sebastian Keys, we started making wine around 2020 as we were looking to create natural wines that weren’t too stuffy and spoke to our generation. We started pretty small making Rose from grapes in Marlborough NZ & then worked more throughout NSW & SA in following vintages. Our first sparkling wine was made with Chambourcin in 2022 grown organically in the Hunter Valley of NSW – super fun pet nat that one was.”

Do You Remember Your First Experience With Sparkling Wine? When It Was And What Kind Of Label It Was?

“Honestly, it was probably a pretty run of the mill prosecco that I had gotten cheap in High School for a party or mimosas.”

When It Comes To Pairing Your Sparkling Wine With Food, Do You Have Any Favourite Combinations That You Would Personally Recommend?

“Oysters. Oysters, Oysters.”

If You Could Choose A Person In The World, Past Or Present, To Have A Glass of Bubbly With; Who Would It Be And Why? What Would You Drink And Why? What Would You Discuss?

“I would love to have multiple glasses of bubbly with cricketer Shane Warne back in his party days, I reckon he would be a crazy good time, obviously would be the Doom Juice Fizz.”

Can You Share With Us Some Of The Countries And Locations Around The World That You Can Enjoy A Glass Of Doom Juice?

“Australia, United Kingdom, Singapore & Canada!”

What Future Plans Can Enthusiasts Of Doom Juice Look Forward To In The Coming Years?
