Duval-Leroy Traditional Champagnes
3rd November 2014
Brut
It is in this product that one can feel the unique power and character which marks out a top-of-the-range champagne. Consistency, expertise and a creative spirit ensure a success which needs no further demonstration. The Maison Duval-Leroy revels in the art of blending Pinots and Chardonnays. Enriched with around fifteen crus and generous quantity of reserve wines, Duval-Leroy Brut confirms its complexity and is recognised for its consistency.
Providing a perfect balance between finesse and power, it draws out flavours of dark chocolate, cinnamon and roasted yellow figs, expressing its subtle, melt-in-the-mouth vinosity.
It was the only Champagne recognised by Wine Spectator magazine in its Top 100 classification for 2008.
Demi-Sec
This cuvee reveals complete harmonies and scintillating resonance, its fine bubbles interweaving and taking you with them.
You can breathe in the voluptuous, captivating sweetness of our Demi-Sec, derived 90% from Pinots, with the balance from Chardonnay. You will love to lose yourself in the delicacy of its taste, which, gentle on the mouth, offers up an intensive palette of toasty, brioche flavours, rounded quince and hazel.
Duval-Leroy Demi-Sec’s vinosity will complement your sweet desserts, in particular pastries, bringing to them a richness and depth. Certain individuals will be daring enough to use culinary contrast to bring this Champagne to its height, accompanying it with a parmesan millefeuille with a strawberry and balsamic vinegar sauce.
Extra Brut
A pioneer of the profession, Maison Duval-Leroy’s experience has allowed it to develop this wine, with its well structured complexity. The finesse of its 100% Chardonnay blend reveals a high level of purity as its initial acidity reduces during an aging process of more than 3 years in the crayères (chalk caves). Its colour, with shades of amber, green and gold, immediately attracts connoisseurs.
A pleasant mineral character flourishes amongst exuberant notes of saffron, pepper and vanilla spices. Its unctuous mousse is the expression of this well-fashioned, cutting-edge champagne’s strong personality.
Our wine maker has successfully incorporated true values, bringing together unique techniques and expertise which has been recognised by oenophiles and is unanimously appreciated by knowledgable lovers of inventive and eclectic cuisine.
Vintage 2004
The Champagne House of Duval-Leroy affirms its style with the clear and luminous character of this cuvee. Its colour is adorned by a persistent stream of fine and bright bubbles. Its elegant palate unfurls to reveal intense mineral notes with aromas of warm caramelized almond, white peach and hawthorn. The final, long-lasting and harmonious impression is of the marriage of the succulence of these flavours with the alchemy of a great Champagne.
Tasting: to enhance the pleasure of tasting Duval-Leroy 2004 Vintage, pair it with a Mediterranean sea perch with lemon and olive oil or alternatively with a veal chop served with garlic and parsley juice and with a truffle scented potato puree.
