The Perfect English Sparkling Wine For Christmas

The English Sparkling Wine industry is in a incredible position right now, with new vineyards popping up around the country, we’re seeing new invitations, technology, ideas, and incredibly talented people from around the world sharing their skills and expertise, each year the quality of English Bubbly is increasing, along with it’s production as more Brits and people from around the world discover that England produces Sparkling Wines that can compete on par with the best in the world.

With Christmas just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to celebrate with those you love with the best that England has to offer. After taking home the World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly Trophy for 2024 at the Glass of Bubbly Awards, Knightor Winery won the Trophy with their limited edition Blanc de Blancs 2015 vintage.

The wonderful Christmas season and enjoying a Glass of Bubbly is all about creating memories and enjoying moments with the ones you love

Speaking with two incredible people from the Knightor team, I asked them to share with us one of the most memorable experiences they’ve enjoyed with a Glass of Bubbly?

“I remember attending a masterclass on Proseccos from Asolo at London Wine Fair and being taken aback by the history, quality and variety of wines coming out of the region. I highly recommend trying a bottle of Asolo when you get a chance!” – Liam Matthews – Sales Manager at Knightor

“Probably the memory that sticks out would be sitting outside in the sun on the banks of the Loire, tasting Cremants.” – David Brocklehurst – Winemaker at Knightor

“The exciting and much anticipated announcement each year is for the World’s Finest to discover who joins a prestigious line-up of past winery winners which includes Champagne Deutz with their 2010 Blanc de Blancs, Villa Sandi with their traditional method Serenissima and Ferrari Trento with their Guilio Ferrari 2005…. As the evening was progressing to the finale and coffee being delivered to the tables, Oliver Walkey of Glass of Bubbly made the all important announcement that the title of the World’s Finest was coming back to England once again with Knightor victorious with their select label being that of the 2015 Blanc de Blancs limited edition.” – Christopher Walkey – Founder of Glass of Bubbly

Liam Matthews attended to collect the trophy on behalf of the fabulous team at Knightor in Cornwall.
