British Airways is set to serve an English sparkling wine for the first time with Bolney Wine Estate Blanc de Blancs 2013 as it’s guest sparkling wine in First Class for six months.

The full-bodied vintage Chardonnay will pair well with the food on offer: Loch Fyne Kinglas smoked salmon with tartar sauce, watercress panna cotta and Oscietra caviar or a fresh seasonal salad with choice of a blue cheese dressing.

The English sparkling wine will join the Champagne already available on board – Laurent Perrier Grande Siècle and Jacquart Mosaique Rose NV. Last year British Airways’ First customers consumed more than 160,000 bottles of Champagne.
