Gusbourne, Blanc de Blancs 2007 English sparkling wine was served to the Columbian president, Juan Manuel Santos, at a royal state banquet, held at Buckingham Palace.

The president and his wife stayed with the Queen at Buckingham Palace and enjoyed a lavish state banquet.

For the starter, the guests were served Dover sole with Morecambe Bay shrimps in a light saffron cream, followed by pot-roasted Windsor estate pheasant with pickled cabbage, port and truffle jus, broccoli and potatoes.

It is not the first time English sparkling wine has been served at a state banquet as Ridgeview Grosevnor 2009 was served at the royal banquet when Xi JinPing visited in October 2015.
