Scotland may be known for it’s top class whiskey, but the city isn’t short of great places to get a glass of sparkling wine. There’s pubs, restaurants and cocktails bars to suit all tastes, from contemporary to traditional – here’s just a few places to visit:

Dragonfly – Visit

Dragonfly is a unique and award-winning independent cocktail bar in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town.  The interior has a beautiful, simple theme inspired by oriental artwork. They offer some great bubbly cocktails including the Peach, Plum, Pear and Raspberry Royale.

Panda & Sons Visit

Fantastically styled after a vintage barber shop, Panda & Sons was opened to create a place where all people would feel welcome. They have an extensive wine list with 8 sparkling wines to choose from, including a Prosecco, English sparkling wine (Ridgeview) and well-known Champagnes. Find this bar on Queen Street.

The Balmoral Hotel – Visit

The city’s most prestigious address. There are several restaurants at The Balmoral, whether you fancy classic Scottish dining, Michelin-starred cuisine, afternoon tea or just a drink. At The Balmoral Bar, they serve a selection of great bubbly cocktails and a choice of wines. The interior is contemporary and vibrant with velvet and leather furnishing.

Boat House – Visit

A bistro with stunning views across the historic Forth Rail Bridge and the river Forth, Boat House specialises in fresh seafood dishes. There isn’t a huge choice of bubbly, with one Prosecco and 4 Champagnes (including one rosé) but the great views and food make it worth a visit.

Angels with Bagpipes – Visit

Located in a 17th century building on Edinburgh’s iconic street, The Royal Mile, Angels with Bagpipes mixes an atmospheric Old Town setting with chic, contemporary looks. The restaurant, which prides itself on using fresh Scottish ingredients, has a romantic feel with candlelit tables and French windows.

Here you can buy English sparkling wine (Nyetimber Classic Cuvée) and some top Champagnes (Ruinart, Krug, Dom Péringon etc.) as well as Prosecco by the glass.
