Enjoying Mothers Day The Bubbly Way

The love and affection we have for our mothers transcends beyond words and although we try to show appreciation every day, mothers day allows us to the opportunity to deliver a grand gesture, whether it be breakfast in bed, a delivery of flowers, a day spa trip or something special and unique to you, Glass of Bubbly wants to lend a helping hand and offer some bubbly suggestions to enjoy with your Mum/Mamma/お母さん/Moeder on Mother’s Day.

Breakfast in Bed?

Let’s start the day off right, with one our Glass of Bubbly’s Gold Medal Winners in the Pastries Delight category to enjoy alongside a heartwarming breakfast, whether it be croissants, toast, cereal or a full English.

Champagne Sanger – Terroir Natal

Champagne Sanger started in 1952 thanks to the vision of 16 winegrowers from Montagne de Reims, who were ambitious to start promoting the components of the Champagne terroir establishing the Sanger house in Avize. Sanger is now spread over 13 hectares, including 42 crus that represent the entire Champagne appellation offering an exceptional gustatory journey in Champagne.

“This wine offers an intense gold colour enlightened by a fine mousse. It gives off notes of yellow apples, white peach and nectarine and stone fruit. Soft minerality enhanced by light saline notes. On the palate, it’s zesty and smooth with delicious lemon tones. It embraces the mouth with refined minerality offering flavours of pastry and bread yeast. Its long finish is marked by outstanding acidity and good intensity.

It’s tender and silky on the palate and will definitely conquer you with its elegance and a touch of joyous sparkle.” Stefania Ruffo – Glass of Bubbly Writer

BBQ Sunday

Depending on how you like your meats cocked, I’ll offer two suggestions, the first one will have us traveling over to Slovenia to pick up a bottle of award winning Sparkling Wine from the winery of Gjerkeš, with their Brut Nature, taking home a Gold in the Gastronomic Category, identified as a bubbly perfect to pair with food, we’ve put it to the test and are extremely satisfied with the results, this sparkling wine will hold it’s own and make a delicate impact on the lightly BBQ’d meat, accompanying salads and extras, but for those who like their meat nice and crispy, then I would suggest something a little puncher, like Champagne Roger Constant Lemaire – Trianon 66 for example, also taking home a Gold in the Gastronomic Category and also being named the World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly in 2020, this Champagne is great with food and equally so by the glass on it’s own.

Places To Visit – In Berkshire

We’re about to pop open a bottle of English bubbly, from Stanlake Park Wine Estate, with their Rosé Superior, an incredibly delicious and candy like tasting experience, perfect for a summers afternoon in the garden, delivering joyous, red apples, cherries, pink and red chewy candes and more.

Stanlake Park is a historic estate original dating back to 1166, it’s located in the Royal County of Berkshire, England and rich with history, with records of royal visitors using the estate as hunting grounds due to its close proximity to Royal Windsor. The Manor House was constructed in 1626 and the outbuildings and stable yard look exactly the same as they did all those centuries ago.

The Stanlake Park you see today is a thriving vineyard and wine producer, producing 40k bottles of wine and hosting almost 10k visitors every year. The first vines were planted in 1979 and the winery is housed in a grade II listed Reformation Barn. The Wine Shop is in a redecorated Victorian greenhouse and overlooks a charming 16th Century walled garden.

They are well and truly leading the way when it comes to wine tourisum in England, offer wine tours & tastings, with their wine bar and garden being open to the public throughout the year, all visitors can relax and enjoy a glass of wine with delicious food. Most of the produce on offer is sourced locally by high-quality small suppliers.

And if the place captures your heart, Stanlake Park is open as a wedding venue in Berkshire, with approximately 100 ceremonies celebrated each year, with accommodation on the estate with a luxury villa housing four double bedrooms, and a charming one bedroom cottage overlooking the Stallion Vineyard.

Something For Dessert? How Can I Say No

For any mother with a sweet tooth, it’s time to get out the desserts and pop open a moorishly sweet sparkling to accompany, or act as the dessert itself, and we’ve recently discovered a brand that offers some incredible dessert like sparklings, allow me to introduce YBY (Yeah Baby Yeah) – 365 Reasons to Celebrate.

Perfectly created in a family-owned wine farm in Württemberg, Germany by The Schnaufer Family, this family has four generations of expertise and experience in the sparkling wine industry, established all the way back in 1918.

The YBY brand was brought to life by Stephan Claus in 2020, believing that every day is worth celebrating life, that’s why they’ve made their sparkling wines ever more affordable then ever before.

They have three sparklings in their YBY range, including a Non-Alcoholic for those those mothers for the bubbles, but not the alcohol.

  • YBY – Crystal – Germany – Trophy – Dessert
  • YBY – Rose – Germany – Silver – Light & Fruity
  • YBY – Non Alcoholic – Germany – Bronze – Dessert

Happy Mother’s Day from Glass of Bubbly
