Members of the public will have the opportunity to experience English wine production first hand on Saturday 17th October when Bluebell Vineyard hosts a harvest experience for members of the public. Participants will hand pick the grapes, learn what happens behind the scenes and see how sparkling wine is made, before sampling the freshly pressed juice of the grapes picked that morning.

“The grape harvest is the most exciting part of the vineyard year and it is what we work towards all season”, said Kevin Sutherland, winemaker at Bluebell Vineyard Estates. “Joining a vineyard for harvest is an unforgettable experience. It’s a great opportunity to really understand the winemaking process, get your hands dirty and have a lot of fun at the same time.”

Bluebell Vineyard Estates is home to over 100,000 vines growing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Seyval Blanc. The Estate produces premium English sparkling wine and has achieved over 40 national and international awards since their first release in 2007.

“Every vintage is different and after near perfect conditions for flowering and a warm Autumn ripening period, the prospects for the quality of the 2015 vintage are very good.” said Kevin.
