Fashion’s Favourite Bubbles: Where to Sip Champagne Like a True Fashionista

20th February 2025

Comite Champagne Bureau

The world’s most iconic designers will this week be coming together in honour of London Fashion Week, which is set to begin on Thursday, February 20 at 180 The Strand and surrounding areas.

One of the most eminent events in the capital city’s calendar, London Fashion Week is undoubtedly best celebrated with a drink equally as prestigious – Champagne. After all, as Coco Chanel once said, “I only drink Champagne on two occasions: when I’m in love, and when I’m not.”.

In fact, Champagne has a longstanding association with the world of fashion, with both realms intertwining history, artistry and elegance seamlessly. Some iconic years for Champagne Vintage include:

  • 1947 remains one of the ‘vintages of the century’, known for its exceptionally fruity character. This year also saw Christian Dior’s debut of ‘New Look’, a collection that transformed women’s fashion with its celebration of feminine proportions.
  • 1966 emerged as a remarkable year of well-balanced and elegant wines. Similarly, Yves Saint Laurent’s ground-breaking introduction of the women’s tuxedo revolutionised traditional gender lines in fashion.
  • 2012 yielded a harmonious and exceptional crop of Vintage wines. This mirrors the fashion landscape, where designers like Stella McCartney and Prada elevated sportswear to new heights at the London 2012 Olympics.

In honour of London Fashion Week taking place this week, the Champagne Bureau UK* has put together a guide of the best places to enjoy a glass of Champagne, within close proximity of the shows, either as a pre- or post-show treat.

Vesper Bar at The Dorchester

The Dorchester’s Vesper Bar has long been London’s ultimate destination for enjoying a wide range of cocktails, wines, and of course, Champagne. Here, every drink is poured into bespoke glassware and savoured alongside a lively soundtrack and globally inspired bites from the eclectic bar menu.
