Giffords Hall Vineyard, Suffolk

14th May 2015

In the village of Hartest, between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury in Suffolk, you can Giffords Hall.

A family run winey, Giffords Hall produce a range of English wines, including a superb East Anglian sparkling.

The vineyard was planted around 25 years ago and the vines are now in their prime. The sandy, clay soil produces quality grapes, high in natural sugars and acids that lend themselves particularly well to both sparkling and dry, aromatic still wines.

It’s a lovely place to visit during the summer. Their small cellar door is where they hold open days and exhibit local artists’ work, as well as a range of other products from Giffords Hall.

If you have the opportunity, make a visit to Giffords Hall during English Wine Week (23rd – 31st May). Visitors can walk in the vineyard, enjoy some sparkling wine and see local artwork.
