Glass of Bubbly Awards 2022 – Results Announced

The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly for 2022 has been announced, alongside the Sustainability trophy, 18 category trophies and a whole host of medals.

Glass of Bubbly, is the best consumer focused International Champagne & Sparkling Wine Awards, focusing on helping the consumer discover the incredible flavours of Champagne and Sparkling Wine.

International Wine Judges flew in from around the world to judge at the Glass of Bubbly Awards, including representation from countries such as USA, Canada, Slovenia, France, Ukraine, Norway and of course, many recognisable and loved faces from right here in the UK.

After their dedicated work on blind tasting and scoring the Champagne and Sparkling Wines from across the globe including Japan, Canada, Argentina, England, France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and more, all the scores were added up, including golden tickets which were awarded by each judge for their stand out wine.

The title of the World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly for 2022 goes to Champagne André de Villeneuve with their Rosé Crand Cru, an incredible Champagne which was described by the judges as having:

“Intense aromas of strawberries, cream and French pastries. Flavours of baked apple, cream, pastry, nuts, brioche and a long finish of strawberries and cream with toast. It is like having a cream tea. There are layers of complexity with clotted cream and vanilla. A perfectly balanced and elegant
wine.”

The Sustainability Trophy in Partnership with Slow Food UK was awarded to South African Winery, Graham Beck, for their incredible work in the vineyards, protecting and preserving their land for future generations to come.

18 Category Trophies were also awarded, with easy to understand and descriptive categories such as ‘Oaky & Toasty’, ‘Sea Breeze’ ‘Creamy’ and ‘Zesty & Zingy’ which helps the consumer to understand better and to know what to expect in their bottle and glass of bubbly! Gold, Silver and Bronze
medals again in these descriptive categories were also awarded.
