Greyfriars Successful Harvest
16th November 2015
Autumn has arrived and the vineyards at Greyfriars are awash with a golden glow. Harvest was another huge success, due to the rather mild but inclement weather, harvest was very late this year with picking starting at the end of October.
This year the training system for the vines was changed from a double cane to a single cane. This reduced the yield but improved grape quality. Despite this there was still an increase in volume to over 113 tonnes of grapes, 10 % more than predicted, due to the fact that more of the vines are now producing grapes.
