Gusbourne English Sparkling to create Prestige Cuvée
19th November 2015
Charlie Holland, Winemaker at Gusbourne Estate, revealed that they are developing a Prestige Cuvée which won’t be released until 2020.
Gusbourne Estate is currently one of the most exciting and ambitious names in English wine. Located in the Garden of England in Kent at Appledore, it’s a 200 hectare Estate on a single site with 20 hectares under vine cultivation with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes.
In 2013 Gusbourne was named “English Wine Producer of the Year” at the International Wine & Spirits Competition and was recently chosen as one of Gordon Ramsay’s wine’s at his Bordeaux restaurant.
The upcoming Prestige Cuvée will be made from a Chardonnay/Pinot Noir blend and will be aged at least 6 years on lees.
This is significant moment for the English sparkling wine industry moving into the next stage of quality wine.
