Champagne produces about 300 million bottles each year and is exported globally. The yearly sales figures to the UK market have grown over recent years though now will remain around the same each year and is said to be mostly due to competition such as rival sales within Prosecco.

Here in the UK we import around 30 million bottles of Champagne each year! It is also a highly popular wine toursim destination for the British with easy routes by train from London to Reims via Paris. Once in the Champagne region, especially the two main towns of Reims and Epernay, there are countless tourism destinations to see and wineries to visit – A must visit is the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay:
