Kingscote Estate Unveils First Ever Sparkling Wine

Kingscote Estate have launched its first ever sparkling wine, named Cuvée Christen in tribute to its late founder Christen Monge, who passed away in May 2015.  Monge was the creative mind behind the iconic Guinness adverts and the UK launch of Fosters before turning his attentions to premium wine.

Cuvée Christen appears brilliant pale gold with pink highlights, and features whirls of fine bubbles with a prolonged mousse. The nose is fresh and clean with citrus and lime leaf notes. The palate is rich with crisp English acidity, balanced, intense apple, lemon, and hints of white chocolate. The finish is refreshing, lemony with hints of rhubarb. All in all, it is an invigorating apéritif style fizz.

Owen Elias, Kingscote executive winemaker, explained: ‘Kingscote’s first ever estate sparkling wine has been produced using a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Blanc grapes. This youthful, fresh and distinctive wine pays tribute to inspirational founder Christen Monge and is named Cuvée Christen in his memory.’

Kingscote Cuvée Christen sparkling wine is available now and can be purchased online at www.kingscoteestate.com priced at £25.99.
