Majestic Wines Sales Saved by Sparkling Wine

Wine retailer Majestic also felt the boost from sparkling wines sales this Christmas period after reporting a 15% increase in revenues.

According to Financial Times, 3% were accounted for by Champagne and 12% of those sales were thanks to sparkling wine.

Christmas is the most important time for sales at Majestic, usually accounting for a third of their annual sales.

Majestic will see this boost as a relief after their shares went down by over a quarter last year.

Sparkling wine is becoming an increasingly important sector for supermarkets to focus on. Aldi also reported boosts in sales over the Christmas period in large part thanks to the popularity of Prosecco.
