Monroe Overdry Prosecco
23rd February 2015
The Monroe Overdry Prosecco D.O.C. (Denomination of Origin Controlled) sparkling wine is very food-friendly, guest-friendly, easygoing and value-conscious sparkling wine.
This sparkling wine is a 100% British project, developed in London. However, the content – the Prosecco D.O.C. Extra Dry sparkling wine – is 100% made in Italy by a number of growers on the hills vineyards around Treviso, close to Venice, in Veneto region, northern Italy.
The Prosecco is made using 100% Glera grapes that are grown exclusively on the steep hillsides of Treviso. The hills close to Treviso are considered to be the producer of the highest quality Prosecco D.O.C. sparkling wine on the planet, and Monroe Overdry’s members own around 10,000 acres here.
Due to the steep terrain, the grape clusters are hand-picked and hand-selected, one-by-one. This harvesting method results in the freshestgrapes that require the least amount of preservatives (sulfites) during the winemaking process. The result is a wine with a unique, floraland fruity aroma and an elegant delicateness.
Renowned Prosecco oenologists monitorthe entire Monroe Overdry wine making process to guarantee consistent taste and composition. The wine’s bouquet and persistent perlage are developed by an extended secondary fermentation, rarely employed by wine producers.
