Montecappone is located in Jesi, within the Marche region of Italy, specialising in the production of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. Founded in the late 1960s, the winery was acquired in 1997 by the Bomprezzi-Mirizzi family, who are renowned for owning the Enoteca Tuscolana in Rome.

The Montecappone property currently stretches over 54 hectares of vineyards and 12 hectares of olive groves that are scattered amongst the hills and castles of beautiful Jesi. The focus in the vineyard centers on low yields, careful selection of grapes, and respect for this beautiful land. Mr. Mirizzi is intent on showcasing terroir through collaboration with all who work with him: consultants, agronomists, and wine experts.

Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi Spumante 2018 Pas Dose’ Metodo Classico 60 Mesi

This wine highlights the potential of the Verdicchio grape for long-aged, traditional method sparkling wines, resulting in a serious, savoury and complex bottle.

Pairs well with seafood, creamy risotto, fettuccine alfredo, pork with lemon and rosemary, Pecorino Romano, Parmigiano Reggiano, and cured meats like Prosciutto di Parma.

Tasting notes: A complex wine of Mirabelle plums with butter and toast and notes of tangerine, fennel and thyme. A savoury style with a lemon zest twist and butter on the finish, which is long and creamy.

Gold Medal in the Classic & Elegant category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2025.

’68 Anno Di Fondazione – Verdicchio Dei Castelli Di Jesi Spumante 2021 Extra Brut Metodo Classico 36 Mesi

A complex sparkling wine with a creamy texture, fine perlage, and notes of apple, quince, and toasted nuts. Given its 36-month ageing, it is structured enough to pair with both delicate seafood and richer, more savoury dishes

The wine’s richness and minerality pair exceptionally well with pasta or risotto topped with white truffle, creamy risotto, roast chicken and Pecorino Cheese.

Tasting notes: Lemon aromas with hints of peach and plum. It is well balanced with notes of walnut and hints of sea breeze, providing a savoury and mineral quality.

Silver Medal in the Gastronomic category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2025.
