Movie Night – Bubbly Edition

It’s Movie Night and whether you’re doing it with friends, a boyfriend or girlfriend, or your beloved family, it’s time to do it right, so pop open a bottle of Prosecco and lay out a gorgeous, scrumptious, and scrumdiddlyumptious display of chocolate treats, brownies, cookies, some dipping pots of melted chocolate, with marshmallows, shortbread, smarties and chocolate lollies.

For the Sparkling Wine, we’re going for a Prosecco, as Prosecco is typically light, fruity and easy to enjoy, it makes it a superb bubbly to combine with these chocolate treats and enjoy while relaxing and watching a flick, and If you’re looking for a perfect suggestion, then may I suggest a Prosecco from Villa Sandi, one of the most famous Prosecco Houses in Italy, with an incredible Villa just a stones through away from the Winery.

There’s no better way to share the story of Kakawa Artisan Chocolate than letting the Founder and CEO, JJ, tell his story.

“After being in the food industry for quite some time (19 years to be exact!), one evening, something just clicked, suddenly realising that this was my time, my chance and immediately I needed to address my dreams, after maintaining others for so long – it was then that I decided to make a go of it.

I made a start with a very small number of slabs (3 flavours), and very quickly word spread about this ‘new chocolate’ being ‘the best I’ve ever tasted’

As the interest in my chocolate and my story continued to grow, so did the ideas and the range of products. It was then that I realised, without a doubt, that I could in fact not only make my dreams come true, but surpass all expectations in the process!

Now, fast forward to 2022, after a good few years of hard work and patience, we now offer in excess of 200 handmade chocolate products within our collections, a selection of which we were fortunate enough to showcase in one of the high street’s top tier retailers in the lead up to Christmas 2021!

Driving me to continue to grow, and achieve my ultimate goal of being one of the industry leaders within the UK independent chocolate market.

With all this in mind, I want to also show, particularly young entrepreneurs, that your dreams are worth chasing!

The Prosecco – Villa Sandi

The Movie

Although we can dish out some fantastic suggestions, like the classic fantasy film based on Roald Dahl’s book and chocolate-fitting – Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory or the more recent update Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the choice of movie, is really down to your preference, your favourite flicks, shows or musicals.

As we’re tasting some scrumdiddlyumptious chocolates let’s speak briefly about one chocolatey film in particular, with a budget of $3 million, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) only earned $4 million by the end of its original run despite receiving positive reviews. The film received a few nominations including Best Original Score, and Gene Wilder for a Golden Globe as Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy.

The movie became highly renowned on repeated television airings and home video sales. It was even selected in 2014 as a film to be preserved in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress, as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.
