The Bear and Lace, which will officially open in Maid Marian Way on 20th July is hoping to entice the people of Nottingham with its vast selection of Champagne, cocktails and fine wines.

Owner Eddie Rathour bought the venue two years ago, which was formerly Chambers Pub, because he wanted to embrace Nottingham’s history.

He said “The bear half comes from Nottingham being a forest and the lace was inspired by the famous Lace Market – it was very fitting.”

General manager Lewis Poole, who has worked in hospitality for 15 years, said he has enjoyed building a new eatery from scratch.

He has previously worked in five stars hotels and said “This is completely our concept – we’ve put everything together ourselves from the menu, to the staff and the design.
