Perrier-Jouët ‘Small Discoveries’ – A Limited Edition Collection

Champagne House Perrier-Jouët have collaborated with Viennese-based design duo mischer’traxler to create ‘small discoveries’ – a limited edition collection

The design of ‘Small discoveries’ includes a flutter of butterflies that has been inspired by Perrier-Jouët’s Art Nouveau heritage and its use of nature.

The collection has two elements: a gift box and a special edition design of the Belle Époque 2007 vintage

The metallic gift box is decorated with the “small discoveries” pattern for the Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut. The tin itself is isothermal, ensuring the Champagne stays cool and can be re-used for Champagne again and again.

The design combines a silk-screen printed flutter of mischer’traxler’s butterflies with Belle Époque’s traditional anemones – maintaining Perrier-Jouët’s Art Nouveau heritage and use of nature.

The bottle of Belle Époque 2007 has also been decorated with the ‘small discoveries’ design and comes with a deluxe case with a decorated sleeve. The Belle Epoque’s traditional anemones are beautifully intertwined with mischer’traxler’s butterflies.

The Belle Époque 2007 has magnolia, honeysuckle and citrus aromas with a taste of  white-fruit flavours and notes of almond milk.

The collection is available late September from Fortnum & Mason, London.

The gift box coincides with ‘Curiosity Cloud’, the installation Perrier-Jouët has commissioned mischer’traxler to create for London Design Festival at Victoria & Albert Museum, London for London Design Festival (19-27 September).

Curiosity Cloud comprises 250 mouth-blown glass globes hanging within the famous Norfolk House Music Room, each containing a variety of fluttering species of hand-fabricated insects. From a distance, the glass globes shimmer and glisten; as you move closer, the insects react by flying faster within the globes, tapping against the glass as they elevate their wings.
