Pink Bubbly for Valentine’s Day
10th February 2015
Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be the same without flowers, chocolate and of course bubbly! Pink bubbly in particular is seen as the more romantic choice so we’ve given you a selection of Champagne, Prosecco, English sparkling wine and other sparkling wines to inspire you for this Valentine’s Day.
Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé
Its pale and bright pink colour is adorned with warm glints of gold and its delicate slowly rising bubbles give it a persistent mousse. This cuvée unveils a subtle aroma leading to an elegant, delicate bouquet of fine notes of red fruits and zest of citrus fruits. Its special method of vinification gives this cuvée a light, elegant flavour, followed by a fresh finish with a taste of raspberry.
Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé
Bright, salmon-pink in colour. Precise and very crisp with a lasting impression of freshness, it has hints of soft red fruits, such as strawberries, redcurrants, raspberries and black cherries. Intensely fruity flavours begin clean and well-defined upon entry, the wine then opens up to provide a melange of flavours consisting of fresh strawberries, raspberries and wild cherries. It has great length and is rounded and supple on the finish.
Champagne Taittinger Prestige Rosé
The intense and brilliant body is bright pink in colour. The bubbles are fine, and the mousse persistent. The full nose, wonderfully expressive, is both fresh and young. It gives off aromas of red fruits (freshly crushed wild raspberry, cherry, blackcurrant). On the palate, this wine strikes a fine balance of velvety and full-bodied. The flavours are reminiscent of fresh, crisp red fruits. The palate can be summed up in four words: lively, fruity, fresh and elegant, as only a rosé blend can be.
Piper-Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage
A rich and expressive red fruit nose – blackcurrant, blackberry, cherry and Gariguette strawberry, freshened with citrus, mandarin and blood orange. A finish lifted with paprika and saffron. On the palate, a brisk, original and juicy wine which simultaneously offers black cherry, blackberry, pink grapefruit and blood orange notes. This structure and fruitiness is enriched with warm, spicy notes of Espelette pepper, tea and liquorice.
Lanson Rose Label
A beautiful pure colour in salmon tones with small, brilliant bubbles. The nose recalls aromas of roses and delicate red berry notes. On the palate, the impact is gentle leading into a very long finish. Its unmistakeable originality is its most attractive feature along with the harmonious balance it strikes between fullness and freshness.
Nino Franco FAÌVE Rosé Brut
Rose petal -like pink. Fruity , red fruit, pear. A long persistence, creamy, brut but with natural softness.
Camel Valley Pinot Noir Brut Rose NV
Lovely delicate floral and strawberry fruit nose typical of Pinot Noir. Well balanced with a good backbone.
Balfour Brut Rosé
Palest of pale pinks with a fine and prolonged mousse. The nose is clean and fresh with subtle redcurrant and white pepper spiciness. This wine has a youthful aperitif style with crisp, mouth-watering acidity, elegant and precise with lemon citrus notes on the palate continuing to a long complex finish.
Hoffmann & Rathbone’s 2011 Rosé Réserve
Salmon pink in colour, with a soft, fine-pearled mousse and persistent effervescence, notes of strawberry, red fruits, peach, nectarine and a floral touch of rose petals delight the palate. With lovely aroma persistence and a bright, lemony finish, this is a lively wine with fruity focus and balanced acidity.
Anna de Codorníu Brut Rosé
Fresh, with cherry and strawberry tones and fine bubbles.
Divinity Supreme Rosé
A unique blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with a beautiful delicate salmon-colour with slightly orangey hues. The effervescence is lively and light, with a refined and elegant perlage. It is fresh and delicate on the nose combining a delicate yet persistent aroma, with notes of berries and citrus. In tasting the wine, it is clear and full-bodied, enhanced by a gentle effervescence. The aromas of freshly picked red fruits exhalt themselves fully.
Chandon Rosé
This fresh and juicy wine that’s a gorgeous shade of pink completes the Chandon portfolio by offering an aromatic, dry Rosé sparkling wine. Though it’s not sweet, the Chandon Rosé, which is mostly Chardonnay with a kiss of Pinot Noir, offers the essence of summery fruits.
Crémant de Bourgogne Opaline
Crémant de Bourgogne rosé, fresh fruit, fresh palate, round and aromatic with fruity notes and bubbles.
