The year 2024 will be filled with various launches and events by Quinta de Ventozelo, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the estate’s acquisition by the Granvinhos group.

To kick off the celebrations, there’s nothing better than the launch of Ventozelo Espumante Grande Reserva 2018, which will hit the market this spring. With a production of 5,000 bottles, this sparkling wine is crafted using the traditional method, brut nature, with a highly gastronomic profile, developed by the Quinta de Ventozelo winemaking team under the direction of José Manuel Sousa Soares.

This refined sparkling wine is unique due to the selection of grape varieties: Malvasia Fina, Rabigato, Códega, and Gouveio. From manual harvest in September 2018, with careful grape selection, to the moment of dégorgement in November 2023, the process involved two distinct fermentations: the first in stainless steel wine tanks at controlled temperatures, where the wine remained in contact with fine lees for six months, and the second in the bottle, following the classic method.

The result is a sparkling wine that, upon tasting, shows a delicate and persistent bubble, with a complex aroma of dried fruits, wrapped in notes of bakery and biscuit. On the palate, being a brut nature/natural brut, it reveals a rather dry profile, with very balanced acidity, creaminess, and an enveloping texture. A sparkling wine with a long finish, full of personality and highly gastronomic, ideal to pair with white meat and seafood dishes.
