When spring hops into summer, the cocktails come out to play, with all their vibrant flavours, some may display characters of berries, some ripe fruits, and others zesty citrus. The array of refreshing cocktails that are enjoyed over the summer are not to be forgotten, this cocktail, the Refreshing Rabbit, has been crafted to deliver sweet and refreshing citrus characters on that next gorgeous summer’s day.

The Sparkling Wine

A Muskat Sparkling Wine from the wonderful sparkling wine producing country of Slovenia, mature in its sweetness, labelled ‘Lea’.

Vinska Klet Bevec – Lea Brut

Aroma – “Gorgeous ripe, sweet and creamy yellow and golden fruits, with hints of dried apricots.”

Flavour – “Rich Muskat flavours with yellow and golden fruits, ripe, sweet glazed yellow fruit pastries, with notes of yellow rose petals and yellow floral on the palate.”

Whittaker’s Gin

Whittaker’s Gin is a family business run from their home, at Harewell House Farm, right in the heart of Nidderdale in North Yorkshire.

The aim of Whittaker’s Gin is to produce an artisan small batch, handcrafted spirit, which reflects the Yorkshire countryside in a bottle, and they’re proud to have achieved their goal.

They macerate all their berries for 24 hours prior to distillation, they also use garden thyme which is picked fresh from their garden on the morning of the distillation. Their original distillery is an old 1950s pig shed which is still very much in use as their storage, bottling, and labelling facility for their gins and other spirits.
