Ridgeview Sparkling Wine enjoyed at State Banquet at Buckingham Palace
21st October 2015
Along with the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, there were more than 170 guests for the State Banquet, a sit down meal in Buckingham Palace’s ballroom held in honour of the Chinese president Xi Jinping and his wife, Madame Peng Liyuan.
Guests were able to enjoy English sparkling wine from Ridgeview Grosvenor 2009 Brut.
Glass of Bubbly spoke to Mardi Roberts, from Ridgview who said “It is so exciting, thrilling that Ridgeview was chosen to be served for such a grand occasion. We knew of the possibility that we could be chosen, but it was not until the menu was tweeted out on Twitter by the British Monarchy that we knew that the Grosvenor 2009 Brut had been chosen.
Mardi continued by saying, “It is the third time that Ridgeview has been chosen for a State Banquet, with the sparkling rosé being served at the Banquet for Obama a few years ago and the Brut for the Norther Ireland Banquet. It just goes to show how far the industry has come.
