Significant Contribution to World of Sparkling Wine 2024 – Flavio Geretto.

London was the location and Searcys St. Pancras was the venue for the 2024 Glass of Bubbly Awards for Champagne & Sparkling Wine. Top international sparkling wine producers and representatives descended upon the capital to discover who were to take home some of the most desired and quirky consumer focused trophies in the wine industry to include the ultimate prize of being named ‘The World’s Finest for 2024’.

In amongst the brand names, Glass of Bubbly were also happy to recognise the people in the industry by reinstating their dedicated award for Significant Contribution and a new award for Social Media Influencer.

 

Significant Contribution to the World of Sparkling Wine:

“This is the ultimate individual prize in the world of sparkling wine and is designed to recognise a major positive impact to the industry by a nominated person. 

We welcome applications from nominees, or those nominating, to highlight an individual who has made a long term positive impact and commitment to the world of sparkling wine.

This can include, though not limited to, commitments to include education, innovation, technology, sustainability, production, marketing, sales.“

The quality of entries for our newly reinstated ‘Significant Contribution to the World of Sparkling Wine’ trophy was very high following several years of absence. As I travel more and meet an array of fine people within the world of sparkling wine, I felt it was time once again to highlight these wonderful and diverse professionals by way of a trophy dedicated to them and their efforts.

I first met Flavio Geretto during the early days of my own wine journey with Glass of Bubbly and always found him very charming and encouraging. Even though back then I knew very little of his role and his work, he gave out an aura of professionalism and consideration to others. Over the years I have continued to be impressed by Flavio’s commitment to not only his beloved Villa Sandi who he works for, but equally as a role model to those in sales and marketing.

Flavio’s dedication and passion for the promotion of sparkling wine sees him spending many days of the year working away from his home and family, travelling across the globe in pursuit of bringing bubbles to cities and towns, regions, states and countries both near and far. Today, my connection with Flavio on social media shows me just how busy and away from home his life is, countless hours of traveling in order to spend precious motivational moments with both those of his international team and people who equally share the passion of Villa Sandi.

 

Again, this is an individual award and not directed at global achievements of Villa Sandi, but the journey and commitment of a man who thrives not only on increasing the expansion and knowledge of bubbles globally, but passionately involves himself in increasing and improving wine education.

When I carried out my research on Flavio following his application for this trophy, it was mind blowing his activities globally outside of Villa Sandi sales – Unquestionably he is at the forefront of all that is positive and important, he lends his time to highlighting culture, tradition, innovation in wine as well as driving home the importance of sustainability, diversity, people.

Without question, the world of sparkling wine has been, is and will continue to be enhanced by wonderful people such as Flavio Geretto.
