It is defining the new rules of English sparkling wine, having established the largest single organic vineyard in the UK, covering an area of more than 900 acres.

Located in Luddesdown, Kent – Silverhand takes its name from King Ludd – a first century King of the Trinovantes, founder of London and God of Protection and Prosperity.

Losing his hand in battle, he was stripped of his rank and position until a Silverhand was made for him… ​

More recently, we have established the largest single vineyard in the UK, spanning the beautiful countryside in the heart of Kent.

They are proud to be situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and are passionate about protecting their environment and the land in which they reside. Their dedicated conservation team work tirelessly across our estate, throughout the year, to ensure the flora and fauna are able to thrive whilst working in harmony with their vineyards.

They are the first UK vineyard to reach carbon-negative status—something they have achieved without carbon offsetting. This milestone reflects their unwavering commitment to true sustainability, innovative winemaking, and environmental stewardship.

They are fortunate to share the same chalky flint soils, Kimmeridge clay, that run down into northern France, near Épône and Reims, making our terroir perfect for growing the key grape varieties used in premium sparkling wine production: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier.
