Silverhand Estate Safari Tour
1st April 2026
Enjoy the ultimate vineyard experience, giving you a chance to see the estate as you’ve never seen it before at Silverhand Estate, nestled in the heart of the picturesque Kent countryside.
Silverhand Estate is a hidden gem that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and rich heritage. It is defining the new rules of English sparkling wine, having established the largest single organic vineyard in the UK, covering an area of more than 800 acres. Join them to learn about the history of their estate, sustainable and ethical practices and organic farming and viticulture.
Take a wild ride in their vintage Land Rover safari truck and be taken around by their expert guide to see parts of their estate that no other customer will have seen. Spend two hours driving through the less-explored areas of their estate, learning about the incredible range of projects and activities that they get up to at the estate. You’ll also have the chance to taste some of their luxurious wines in the most scenic parts of our estate.
Located in Luddesdown, Kent – Silverhand takes its name from King Ludd – a first century King of the Trinovantes, founder of London and God of Protection and Prosperity.
Losing his hand in battle, he was stripped of his rank and position until a Silverhand was made for him.
They also offer guided tours to their hidden historical gem – a medieval, grade-I listed manor house with a royal connection.
Often cited as the oldest lived-in house in Britain, there’s evidence of residence from the Norman Conquest until the present day. The Great Hall is an essential feature of this historic property, supported by oak beams, with five large windows across the vaulted room. Further important features of this house include the Tudor chimney, Norman corbelled fireplace, and, perhaps most importantly, the unique murals scratched into the plaster of the Great Hall and two of the five bedrooms.
Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, they are passionate about protecting our environment and the land in which we reside. Their dedicated conservation team work tirelessly across our estate, throughout the year, to ensure the flora and fauna are able to thrive whilst working in harmony with our vineyards.
