Squerryes launch new kids Vineyard Trail to raise money for local Hospice
11th July 2024
A new family-friendly trail will open this summer at Squerryes in Westerham to raise money for Hospice in the Weald. Take part in the trail during café opening times from Friday 12 July until Sunday 1 September 2024.
With a suggested donation of £2 per child, you can pick up a trail sheet from the Vineyard Café before heading into the adjoining vineyard to follow the trail and answer the questions to solve a puzzle. After completing the trail, children can collect a small reward from the café.
The trail has been designed as a fun way to discover the picturesque vineyard, enjoy the views and wildlife plus learn a little about winemaking along the way.
After completing the trail why not have a bite to eat in the café? With sandwiches and salads, pastries, cakes and ice creams, it’s perfect for a relaxed lunch with the children during the school holidays. Or head to the outdoor terrace to enjoy lunch from the Winery Restaurant’s new summer terrace menu. The café and restaurant menus are all on the Squerryes website.
The sunny terrace overlooks the Rosé Vineyard where the large parasols create perfect dabbled shade to enjoy one of the small or large sharing plates, an indulgent dessert, a summer cocktail or a chilled glass of Squerryes sparkling wine with family and friends. If the weather is unsuitable for outdoor dining, guests are moved indoors although there are a few tables on the balcony for those wishing to dine outdoors.
During the evenings, dining moves indoors where the à la carte menu is served. Make the most of the early evening sunshine and arrive early to enjoy an aperitif from the Tasting Bar before coming upstairs for dinner.
Summer Tours and Tastings are now in full swing as the vines flourish in the sunshine at Squerryes. Book a wine tasting experience to hear all about the history and wines associated with Squerryes before taking a stroll out to the vines and tasting three signature varieties in a tutored tasting. Tours are £32 per person and take place Thursday to Sunday throughout August. Currently there is availability on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays with limited availability on Saturdays.
Next to the Vineyard Café is the Estate Deli with fresh local produce including freshly baked sourdoughs and pastries from Blomst Bakery, roasted coffee and blended teas from Corban Coffee of Sevenoaks, plus locally smoked charcuterie and meats from the Weald Smokery in Flimwell and handmade sweet and savoury treats from Sheepcote Kitchen. There’s also the Squerryes Estate range of produce to tempt you, including Estate meat barbeque items such as sausages, skewers and kebabs.
The Cellar Door is the place to discover the best of UK and International wines which are perfect to enjoy on a summer’s day. As well as stocking the Squerryes range of vintage sparkling wines, shelves are packed with a hand-selected assortment of UK and International wines of distinction. Squerryes Wine Ambassadors will be on hand to help choose the perfect wine!
