Sumaridge Estate: The Wayfarer Cap Classique
30th April 2015
Poise, elegance and individuality are hallmarks of our limited maiden vintage Cap Classique – The Wayfarer. A Pinot dominant wine showing as intended light blush with a fine, persistent mouse. A considerable investment in maturation time has allowed this wine to gently develop to its full potential over more than three years resulting in rich yet mellow flavours lifted by the minerally texture on finish, derived from our maritime fruit.
Composition: Pinot Noir 77% : Chardonnay 23%
Maturation: Three years – Bottled 8th September 2009 : Disgorged 19th October 2012
Production: 2800 bottles (230×12 cases)
Soils: Predominantly of decomposed granite derivation along a fault line with saprolitic clay subsoil of chalky texture.
