6th February 2020
Valentine’s Day is edging closer and it’s time to start looking for that special gift for your loved one.
Gettingpersonal.com has many great personalised gifts to choose from, including this Personalised Cocktail Set.
The Cocktail Kit I have here comes with:
- 1 Cocktail Shaker
- 1 Thimble Measure
- 1 Strainer
If you click on this Personalised Cocktail Set link you will see that it has an amazing option to preview what your personalised message will look like before you decide to buy.
When personalising this Cocktail Kit, ‘The Property Of’, is not changeable, but you do have up to 20 characters on your name and up to 70 characters on your message.
The engraving has been done very well, it’s good quality with no imperfections.
As this could be a Valentine’s Day gift, I’ve gone for a Cocktail that suits the occasion.
When you think of Valentine’s Day Cocktails, you mainly think of strawberries and rose petals, but this Cocktail is going to be focused on apples.

Why Go For Champagne Bernard Lonclas & Glen Marnoch Whisky?
Champagne Bernard Lonclas Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut
Bernard Lonclas is located in the village of Bassuet in the Champagne region.
The company was founded in 1976.
In Bernard Lonclas, winemaking is considered a major art in the family house, when someone has a passion for something, they tend to spend more time and effort in creating the best final product, and you can taste that passion in every bottle of Champagne Bernard Lonclas.
They currently have 8 different bottles of Champagne available to buy on their website, including the one I’ve used here, so head on over and take a look at their range by clicking right here.
Tasting Notes
Aroma – “Green fruits including green apples and pears with creamy yellow fruits.”
Taste – “Green fruits, yellow fruits and citrus with a touch pastry.”
This Champagne won a Silver Medal in the First Date Category in The World’s Finest Glass of Bubbly Awards 2019.
Glen Marnoch Whisky
This Glen Marnoch Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky from Aldi, priced at £17.49, has some very unique aromas and flavours that work wonders in the Apple Of My Eye Cocktail.
Tasting Notes
Aroma – “Peat smoke, heather and nuttiness.”
Taste – “Smoky and oaky with a creaminess.”
The Apple Of My Eye Tasting Notes
Aroma – “Green apples, ginger and peat smoke.”
Taste – “The strength of the Whisky is toned down by the sweetness of the apple juice and yellow fruits from the Champagne, but the Whisky still gives off its smoky flavours.”
A very nice and easily drinkable Cocktail, one I would definitely have again, but it just wouldn’t work without the Glen Marnoch Whisky flavours and aromas, I also believe the Champagne was perfect for this Cocktail, it gave it sophistication and added nice yellow fruit flavours that appeared but never stole the show.
Thank you to Gettingpersonal.com for sending me over this fantastic Cocktail set, it is a brilliant starter set for anyone wanting to create some delicious Cocktails.
