The First Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG Cru by Montelvini’s FM333
Montelvini, one of the most popular and well known Prosecco brands, have released something truly unique, the First Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG Cru – and they’ve called it FM333.
FM means Fontana Masorin, the name of their vineyard located on the Montello Hill which is 333 meters above sea level. In fact, this is also the first Asolo Prosecco Superiore produced with the Glera grape harvested from a single vineyard.
‘You State That This Prosecco Is The First Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG Cru, What Does This Mean?’
“We added the ‘Cru’ description to our FM333, which is the highest quality Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG we produce, because this wine is obtained by using exclusively the Glera grapes we harvest by hand in our Fontana Masorin Estate, located at the top of the Montello hill at 333 metres above sea level.”
“The Glera Vineyard we use to produce this amazing Cru is a very small niche of only 2 Hectares, located in the sunny South facing slopes of the Estate. The soil on which this vineyard grows is almost red in colour due to the richness of mineral elements that allow this wine to boost a very interesting sapidity and structure, while a sensitive temperature excursion between day and night gives it its characteristic acidity.” – Montelvini
The Montello Hill is a singular location. The soil is almost red because it is rich in mineral elements, while the climate is sunny, well exposed and with a sensitive temperature excursion between day and night.
Fontana Masorin Estate consists of two hectares, located in a singular section of the Montello Hill.
The grapes are selected manually and carefully hand-picked, only the first part of the must obtained from soft pressing is kept and stabilized with a cold liquid technique in order to allow a higher amount of aromatic precursors to be extracted.
At the end of this process, which lasts about 6 months before being bottled, they obtain FM333 which can be considered a ‘sparkling wine from must’, absolutely unique in the sparkling wine scene.
FM333 pairs very well with raw fish, steamed seafood and Mediterranean dishes. It will be available in luxurious and innovative packaging of which they have produced 3.333 cases.
