The Harrow at Little Bedwyn celebrates 10 years of Michelin Stars
20th September 2015
The Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2016 was released today, with the news that The Harrow at Little Bedwyn has been awarded a Michelin Star for the 10th year in a row. A very rare achievement, especially as The Harrow is one of the few wholly privately owned Michelin Star restaurant’s in the UK. Roger and Sue Jones set the Harrow up 17 years ago.
The compact kitchen team of 4 includes Head Chef; John Brown who started as a Kitchen Porter, 16 years ago, at the age of 17. Lee Patterson who recently was promoted from Kitchen Porter to Commis Chef and Chris Munton their new Kitchen Porter. Roger despite his wine journalism and the consultancy work he undertakes with numerous bodies including WOSA, Wine Australia and New Zealand Winegrowers, still manages a decent 50 hours a week in the Harrow kitchen.
The Harrow has achieved numerous awards this year including The Worlds Best Wine List. The extensive wine list includes a fantastic selection of Champagne, inlcuding Charles Heidsieck, Billecart-Salmon and Ruinart which are available by the glass as well. Also English sparkling wine, including Sugrue Pierre, Ancre Hill and Nyetimber by the glass.
