The Ruinart Challenge

The Sommelier Challenge is an annual event aimed at finding the most promising young Sommeliers from around the world.

Working in partnership with the Court of Master Sommeliers, The Ruinart Challenge runs as an international training programme and workshop.

The entrants will first join Ruinart Cellar Master, Frédéric Panaïotis, for a training day. Gerard Basset OBE MS MW MB and Ronan MS join Panaïotis to make up the Sommelier Challenge jury.

Frédéric Panaïotis has been Cellar Master at Ruinart since 2007; before that he worked 12 years at Veuve Clicquot.

20 places are available on this workshop to Court of Master Sommeliers Advanced and Diploma students along with other Sommeliers are invited to apply.

The jury will finally identify the most talented Sommelier, who will get the opportunity to get on a 4-day educational trip to Reims, Champagne with Frédéric Panaïotis this Summer.

This will be an opportunity for top young Sommeliers to immerse themselves in the world of Champagne and to experience rare tastings and experiences alongside different producers, varieties and wines, whilst offering invaluable networking with their peers from around the world.

In the UK, the workshop will take place at Moët Hennessy UK, 18 Grosvenor Gardens, London SW1W 0DH on Tuesday 5 April 2016.
