While the jump isn’t huge, comparing figures over the previous twelve months shows that sales have risen by over 8%. You could argue that said sales and market share put the brand in the mid-bracket, which would be correct. But selling ten million bottles a year produces excellent returns.


Did you ever think that a brand of Champagne called Mumm would hit the heights? We didn’t think so either. But it has, and it continues to do so. Mumm have been clever in their approach as they have struck up sponsorship arrangements with sports such as Formula 1, and they have also targeted the merging markets in countries like Brazil, China and India. They’re currently selling close to seven million bottles a year.

Laurent Perrier

Laurent Perrier’s key attribute is consistency. The high-quality vintages impress year after year, and all the experts and Champagne connoisseurs agree. At present, Laurent Perrier is delivering similar numbers where sales are concerned as Mumm, and they, too, have their own way of marketing, although it’s not a strategy that you could describe as the norm. For example, Laurent Perrier have partnered up with the Chelsea Flower Show in recent times. But, if it works, it works.
