Tourism at Domaines Paul Mas in South of France

This summer, visitors to Domaines Paul Mas vineyards in Montagnac have the option of staying in one of two newly-created luxury suites.  Located in the heart of the vineyards, and mere steps from Domaines Paul Mas award-winning restaurant, Côte Mas, the suites feature high-standard furnishings, complimentary wi-fi, climate control, and Nespresso coffee machines.  Guests can also take advantage of a modern kitchen/dining area, as well as an outdoor pool and patio area.

Wine tasting and tours will naturally be at the top of any guest’s agenda; there will be countless opportunities to sample Domaine Paul Mas’ extensive range of sparkling wines, and visits to the cellars and daily tutored tastings are easily available.  Residents can also enjoy modern French cuisine, incorporating European, Asian, and South American elements, at Côte Mas, while admiring the landscape from the alfresco dining terrace or listening to live jazz from local musicians on Thursdays throughout the summer.  Other dining opportunities include the Côte Mas Sunday Brunch – a leisurely Mediterranean style banquet – and the new Domaines Paul Mas bistro-style restaurant, which offers more casual, buffet style dining.

Owner Jean-Claude Mas explains: ‘we want guests to feel relaxed – there is no set agenda or itinerary when you book into our suites.’  Residents can choose from a variety of activities to suit their preferences, including quad-biking, horse-riding, visiting the galleries and Saturday market at nearby rural town Pézenas and even cooking tuition at Côte Mas from head chef Kevin Breugnot.

Jean-Claude Mas describes the philosophy behind the new suites thus:

‘The modern concept of luxury isn’t simply about opulence.  Luxury has been redefined: people now want authenticity and a real sense of place – this is the type of experience we must provide for our guests.’

Domaines Paul Mas has been run by Jean-Claude Mas since 2000, who has quickly built up an impressive portfolio of 12 estates covering 650ha of choice vineyards across the region. Today, Domaines Paul Mas is one of the Languedoc’s most influential wineries and greatest innovators; Mas continues to prioritise sustained organic production in the region and is now leading the vanguard for sulphur free and low sulphite wines in the Languedoc.
