US Champagne Shipments Reach 26.4 Million Bottles in 2025

The United States remains the largest global market for Champagne, continuing to outpace the UK and nearly double the volume of Japan. Globally, despite a slight downturn in the US and Italian markets, demand remains strong and many markets showed growth

More than 26.4 million bottles of Champagne were shipped to the United States in 2025, reflecting a slight drop in volume from the previous year. The United States remains the largest global market for Champagne in the world.

Total Champagne shipments for 2025 stood at 266 million bottles worldwide, down 2 percent from the 271.4 million bottles distributed in 2024. International markets accounted for nearly 152 million bottles, while the French market represented 114 million bottles.

“With a strong appellation and coordinated actions, we will continue to bring joy to all those around the world who love fine wines, dreams, fraternity, celebration and life,” David Chatillon, President of the Union des Maisons de Champagne and Co-President of the Comité Champagne, said.

“The French market is a showcase for our appellation, and we must strengthen it. We have all the assets we need – excellent wines, unique expertise and collective strength – to consolidate this position and promote Champagne,” Maxime Toubart, President of the Syndicat Général des Vignerons and Co-President of the Comité Champagne, said.

“The U.S. market remains a stronghold for Champagne despite ongoing economic and geopolitical headwinds,” added Lori Russo, Director of the Bureau du Champagne, USA. “The versatility and diversity of Champagne wines make the region’s famous bubbles suitable for any moment, whether elevating a casual meal among friends or enhancing life’s most significant milestones.”
