4th September 2025
Warden Abbey Vineyard, located in Bedfordshire, is a community vineyard project run as a not-for-profit venture by the Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity (BRCC).
Vines are cared for all year round by volunteers, who also help with promoting the project, historical research, vineyard tours, organising events and fundraising.
The vineyard provides opportunities for jobless volunteers to improve their chances of finding permanent jobs, as well as offering a unique setting for social and therapeutic horticulture, and wildlife and heritage projects.
The vineyard emphasises community involvement, with volunteers participating in all aspects of its operation.
The vineyard is situated on the site of a former Cistercian abbey, with vines first planted in medieval times.
Enjoy a tour of their beautiful vineyard, learn about its fascinating history and indulge with a tasting of their award winning wine.
Their English Sparkling Wine 2019 won a Bronze Medal in the First Date Category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2024.
