Visit Wildwood Vineyard in Sussex
11th August 2025
Wildwood Vineyard is a family owned, boutique English Vineyard located just outside the village of Eridge, East Sussex, southwest of Tunbridge Wells.
Planted in 2016, with their first harvest in 2018, they are off-grid and employ a wide range of sustainable practices to grow Bacchus, Pinot Noir and Regent grapes, tending to their vines by hand to create premium quality still and sparkling English Wine.
As well as the vineyard, they look after and manage a small shaw of ancient woodland, which is where they get the name ‘Wildwood’. The story goes that William the Conqueror’s half brother Bishop Odo once used to hunt through these woods.
The woodland is made up of a wide variety of native trees, particularly Oak and Ash standards with a Hazel coppice. At the bottom, is a narrow stream which is populated by tiny trout smallfry washed down from the trout lake at Eridge. Dip your toes in and they will nibble your feet.
You can visit for a tour and guided tasting, buy direct from their Cellar Door and let the kids try out their Nature Trail, or have a wander in the wild woods. Whilst visiting, enjoy an East Sussex cheese plate paired with their wines, we suggest pairing with their Blanc de Noirs 2021 which won a Silver Medal in the Gastronomic Category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2024.
There is also opportunity to travel to the vineyard in style on a heritage steam or diesel train via the Spa Valley Railway. They have special tie-in days with the railway.
