Wiston English Sparkling Wine to be served at BAFTA Awards Tea Party
10th January 2015
Award-winning Sussex wine producer Wiston Estate is delighted to have been chosen by BAFTA Los Angeles as the official Sparkling Wine for their BAFTA Tea Party, to be held in Beverly Hills, LA this afternoon Saturday 10th January. This prestigious annual event brings together some of the biggest names in film and television and offers a truly British experience in the midst of the annual awards season in Los Angeles.
To complement the elegant style for which BAFTA is renowned, the desire was to find a wine that was quintessentially English to be poured alongside the scones and cucumber sandwiches and served to the nominees, members and guests. The wine selected is Wiston Estate Cuvée Brut 2010, produced from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.
When Richard Goring, whose family have owned and looked after Wiston estate for the past 250 years, received the invitation to partner with BAFTA Los Angeles there was no hesitation. “Our family have always loved film and we feel privileged to have been asked to be part of bringing an inherently British flavour to this celebration.”
Richard and his wife Kirsty will be attending the event on Saturday. “We are very excited to be flying the flag for Wiston Estate and for English wines at this very British event in the heart of Los Angeles, and alongside such a terrific line up of British acting talent too,” he added.
