Visit Woodchurch Estate in Kent
20th August 2025
A family business established in 2009, Woodchurch Estate in Kent produces exceptional English sparkling wine.
Graham and Donna Barbour found the perfect site for a vineyard in 2009 and planted 10,000 vines in 2010. The vineyard is 20m above sea level and has the perfect aspect for growing vines. Woodchurch released their first vintage in 2015 and now produce a range of award-winning still and sparkling wines. Woodchurch Vineyard is a stunning vineyard with breathtaking views across the vines and towards the sea. Woodchurch welcomes visitors all year round.
It is commonly recognised that southern England now provides the perfect growing conditions for grapes to produce outstanding sparkling wine. This is being demonstrated by an increasing number of international awards for wines from Kent and the southern counties. At Woodchurch Wine Estate, these conditions combine with the perfect location and the right management to enable us to produce wine of the highest quality.
At Woodchurch Wine Estate, their vision is to create the world’s finest sparkling wines. Every step of the vine growing and wine making process is approached with meticulous attention to detail. Throughout the year, the vines are managed by hand and treated with great care, which in turn means the fruit harvested is of the highest quality. Their wine is made in a state of the art winery by one of the UK’s leading winemakers, whose philosophy of minimal intervention and diligent approach to wine-making results in superb wines.
They serve Woodchurch wines by the glass and bottle alongside other locally produced refreshments. They offer a range of snacks and cheese or charcuterie boards throughout the day. On Saturdays they also serve pizzas from our wood-fired pizza oven. They have seating inside and tables on the balcony overlooking the vines and the Kent countryside.
Self-guided tours are free; just arrive at the vineyard, pick up a map from the bar and set off on your tour. Self-guided tours take approximately 20 minutes.
For the full experience, book a guided tour and tasting. You will meet Graham Barbour, the founder and owner, who will take you on a personal journey, and you’ll learn all about the story behind the vineyard and their outstanding selection of Kent wine.
