Nutbourne Nutty Wild

Nutbourne Vineyards welcomes visitors all year round – it is a wonderful place to explore in the heart of West Sussex, with wildflower meadows, alpacas, lakes, sweeping views of the South Downs and plenty of places to relax and enjoy a glass of Sussex Reserve.

They offer guided tours of the vineyard and winery, followed by a tasting of their still and sparkling wines. You can join their Saturday morning tours ot book a private tour for a group.

They begin with tea, coffee and homemade cakes, as you take in the stunning views of the South Downs, before a walk through the vines, wild flowers and down to the lakeside to meet the alpacas.

Heading into the winery for a refreshing glass, you can look at each step of the wine making process, then return to the Wine Lodge for more tasting.

Burgers & Bubbly

Take in the views of the South Downs as you tuck into Gregory Gladwin’s mouthwatering beef burgers, paired with sparkling wine and music wafting through the vines. Pre-book your place to enjoy these idyllic Summer evenings at the wine lodge.

The burgers are made with their own Sussex-reared beef, cooked in the vinewood-fired oven and served in brioche buns with local tomatoes and salad.

Their range of still and sparkling wines are available from the Nutty Bar by the glass or bottle to share, with Chocolate Tiffin and Vineyard Platters to tuck into.

Discover Their Award-Winning Bubbly

Nutty Vintage Brut 2018

Gold Medal winner in the Pastries Delight category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2025.

Nutty Vintage can compete with any sparkling wine in the world. Great for lavish entertaining and special celebrations, it is a lovely aperitif to pair with canapés, oysters, smoked salmon and quail eggs. It is also a treat to cut the sweetness of rich chocolatey desserts.

The art: Just as Nutbourne wines are only made from grapes grown on the estate, every bottle features Bridget Gladwin’s paintings. This artwork is of the vine in Winter – old intertwined wood, resting after producing the wine, which is gently maturing in the cave.

Tasting notes: Vibrant, elegant with red fruits and toast with notes of forest floor.

Nutty Blush Pinot Noir 2018

Gold Medal winner in the Foget Me Not category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2025.

A fabulous Classic Method vintage sparkling rosé wine made from 100% Pinot Noir. From the wonderful hot Summer of 2018, this is a complex dry wine with balanced fruit, fine mousse and a delicious biscuity finish. A sensational limited edition, perfect for a very special celebration, it has the wonderful blush colour that the French describe as ‘oeil de perdrix’ – pink as a partridge eye!

Ideal as an aperitif, it also pairs well with oysters, smoked salmon, quail eggs and canapés.

Tasting notes: Brioche and yeasty notes with nuts, toast, orange blossom honey and floral notes.

Nutty Wild NV

Silver Medal winner in the Summer Days category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2025.

Made from the second pressing of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, this is a light and joyous sparkling. Delicate and tangy with a pale pink hue, this tastes like strawberries and raspberries on a hot Summer day.

Produced as a simple, young, natural wine made with minimal interference, fermented to 10% alcohol, Nutty Wild is for quaffing with friends and pairs well with summer berries. A great drink for barbecues and buffets, it is an ‘anytime’ easy drinking fizz to make you smile.

The art: Just as Nutbourne wines are only made from grapes grown on the estate, every bottle features Bridget Gladwin’s paintings. This is an image of the vine in Winter, but with the exotic colours of a wild party.

Tasting notes: Pale salmon in colour. Raspberry notes in aroma. Pomegranate, cranberry, apple, melon and apricot on the palate with a touch of cream and hazelnut on the finish.
