A glass of Bubbly

Visit Stopham Vineyard, a beautiful vineyard and winery in the South Downs National Park, West Sussex.

They offer vineyard, winery and wine tasting tours with the winemaker on the majority of Saturdays at 11am or 2pm between April and September.

They are given by one of the winemakers, Simon or Tom or their vineyard manager, Adderley. It includes a comprehensive, in-depth tour of both the vineyard and the winery. You will have the opportunity to learn how they grow and nurture their vines. You will gain an understanding of how the weather can impact yield, and the importance of the soil and the environment to the wine. We then walk to the winery, a converted Grade II listed Victorian barn at the top of the vineyard.

You will be guided through their winemaking process, learning about the modern, innovative methods and state-of-the-art equipment that they use in their production of quality English wine.

The tour finishes with a wine tasting of their range of delicious wines. This includes their wine that was selected for the Queen’s party on the Royal Barge at her Diamond Jubilee celebrations and is served at top restaurants, such as Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons.

You can also choose to add lunch by the river to make it even more of an enjoyable day out.

Their Sparkling Brut Prestige 2019 won a Gold Medal in the Light & Fruity category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2025. This traditional method English sparkling wine spent 24 months on lees before disgorgement and has a lovely taste of honeyed brioche with grapefruit and citrus fruits.

Tasting notes: Galia melon, juicy fruit, white peach, orange blossom and white flowers and a subtle hint of orange marmalade.
