Popped Champagne Cork Causes Emergency Plane Landing
2nd September 2015
Popping Champagne corks can sometimes be a little tricky, but one place you must be extra careful is on board an airplane mid-flight.
A flight attendant accidentally misfired the cork towards the ceiling of the cabin, hitting the panels and releasing the oxygen masks.
The EasyJet Airbus A320 was heading from London to Turkey in August when the plane was forced to divert to Italy and land there as a precautionary measure.
Thankfully, besides the 7-hour delay, everyone was fine. Just have to be more careful where they point the bubbly next time!
