Piper-Heidsieck has launched the Rare Rosé Millésime 2007 Champagne, as a counterpart to its white Rare Millésime.  It is the first rosé to be produced under the Rare label.

The rosé has spent eight years ageing in the cellars following a difficult year, when the grapes grew extremely early and suffered from cold weather, affecting the viability of the vintage.  On the nose, it features notes of lychee, berries and smoked tea.  On the palate, it features flavours of exotic herbs, pomegranate, vanilla, passion fruit and a dash of paprika.

The Rosé Millésime 2007 is in limited supply, with just 150 bottles being released in the UK.  It is available in a numbered lacquered black wood and rose gold metal box for £325.00 at Harrods and Hedonism Wines in Mayfair from 1st October.
