Books & Bubbles: Fizzy Happiness Launches New Wine-and-Books Concept in Old Amersham

Fizzy Happiness, the women-led UK specialist in Italian sparkling and small-production wines, has launched UNDICI: Books & Bubbles in Old Amersham — a wine-and-books concept inspired by the independent bookstores and wine bars of New York, and built around one of the UK’s most specialised selections of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG and small-production Italian wines.

Founded by Kristyna Weston, Fizzy Happiness operates across hospitality venues, online retail, off-trade and trade supply, working exclusively with independent, family-run producers. Its focus on Prosecco Superiore DOCG — widely regarded as the highest expression of Prosecco — has positioned the brand as one of the very few places in the UK where guests and customers can explore the category in depth, from vineyard-specific bottlings to region-led tastings.

“Some of our favourite moments when travelling are spent in independent bookstores and local wine bars,” says founder Kristyna Weston. “In New York this autumn, my husband and I discovered places that combined both — wine and books, our two great loves — and encouraged you to stay, read and slow down. We’d played with the idea before, but experiencing it there made it clear we wanted to create a beautiful space for wine and book lovers in Buckinghamshire, grounded in Italian wine culture and serious Prosecco rather than trends.”

At UNDICI, shelves of carefully edited books sit alongside a wine list curated to showcase Italy’s regional diversity, from the UNESCO-listed hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene to small-production estates across Veneto, Piedmont, Tuscany and southern Italy. The space is designed for browsing, tasting and staying, positioning wine and reading as complementary cultural experiences.

The launch coincides with the introduction of “A Year in Italian Wine”, a monthly tasting series exploring Italy’s regions one by one. Each session focuses on a single region, guiding guests through regional styles, producer stories and small-batch wines, with the opening event exploring Veneto on 29 January.
