10th Anniversary of the Glass of Bubbly Awards

We’re excited to announce that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Glass of Bubbly Awards!

The Glass of Bubbly Awards uniquely evaluate sparkling wines by focusing on consumer-friendly flavour profiles and suitable occasions. This innovative approach bridges the gap between technical excellence and everyday wine choices, making it easier for consumers and buyers to find wines that match their preferences.

Each medal from the Glass of Bubbly Awards clearly indicates both the score tier and a descriptive style label, such as Gold – Sea Breeze or Silver – Spring Fling. These labels provide insight into the wine’s flavour profile, helping consumers and buyers understand what to expect.

Winning a category trophy highlights your wine’s specific profile, catching the attention of retailers and restaurant buyers seeking particular styles—whether high-quality Gastronomic, Classic & Elegant, or other profiles. This targeted recognition opens doors to new markets and placements.

The Awards are inclusive, offering visibility for a wide range of sparkling wines, including canned varieties, Frizzante, and low- or zero-alcohol options. This creates a level playing field for producers of all sizes.

 

Category Descriptions

Creamy – A soft rounded wine that gives buttery/creamy experience of aromas and/or flavours.

Classic & Elegant – A wine showing a timeless, refined and luxurious quality.

Dessert – Stand out sweeter tasting wine that will pair well with most dessert dishes.

First Date – The perfect wine to accompany that first date. Nothing too complex and not necessarily a wine that needs to pair with exact foods.

Forget Me Not – A wine with a unique taste. There’s something very different about this wine making it stand out.

Gastronomic – A complex wine that holds enough body to accompany fine cuisine.

Herbal Gardens – A wine that will have a herbaceous character from herbs to freshly cut grass.

Hint of Spice – This wine will show characteristics of seed, fruit, root, bark or other plant spices from sweet to heated.

Light & Fruity – A light and easy to drink wine with expressive fruity flavours.

Meditation – An addictive wine for those special relaxing times. This wine will express itself more and more the longer it is opened and the longer it stays in your glass.

Oaky & Toasty – This wine will express a smoky, toasty and/or oaky style character.

Pastries Delight – A wine showing a yeasty, brioche, nutty character.

Sea Breeze – This wine will show a salty sea spray tasting experience just as if you were standing on the beach and admiring the waves.

Spring Fling – A floral driven wine that expresses flowers from cherry blossom to rose petals. Imagine yourself walking in to your local florist.

Summer Days – A refreshing and crisp tasting experience likely to be red berry driven. Ideal for those moments spent enjoying the sun.

Tropical Burst – A wine which shows a touch of tropical fruit character such as pineapple, banana and mango.

Winter Warmer – This wine will be of a fuller flavoured character. Perfect for a winter’s evening sat in front of the fire.

Zesty & Zingy – A wine that will be citrus flavoured with a definite zing to it.

 

Especially beneficial for boutique vineyards and smaller producers, the Glass of Bubbly Awards provide an excellent platform for gaining international recognition and elevating your sparkling wine’s profile in the global market.

We invite you to submit your finest sparkling wines and discover how they perform against global competitors. The entry fee is £125 per submission, with discounts available for three or more entries. We will require two sample bottles for each entry.
